About Me

I am a renaissance aging lady living in Frederiksted, St Croix, whose previous life was spent by the sea in south Florida. The power, strength and calmness of the ocean environment has embraced my soul and the connection I have though my emotions and memories are expressed through my art work.

Being self-taught, I continue to study on line, attend artist workshops and paint en plein air weekly at different island locations with a local group called The Palletteers. My artistic ability continues to improve and evolve as I am always seeking new exciting techniques and continue to dream in technicolor. I continue to read, write and scuba dive

Currently in my art, I am striving to capture the mesmerizing beauty of our local flowers, historic architecture, people playing and ocean waves utilizing different mediums to express different atmospheric conditions

This morning making a general review of my art to be hung in the museum and in browsing through the bin system have decided that things unframed have a much better chance of being sole. It takes so much effort to frame something professionally, and then figure in the cost to only realize that the frame doesn’t really do that much for the art to justify the price a patron will now have to pay. I am enlarging my studio art table to facilitate working on a larger format and questioning if I really should go in that direction. Plein Air certainly calls for nothing larger than 12x16 and Poppies completed in 18x24 format may be difficult to sell because I am finding people do not have that much wall space in the Caribbean for their houses are full of windows.

Painting is difficult and ever so often I have no idea what I am doing. I have decided that I am a risk taker and painting certainly fills that need. Often I produce a product that few value and fewer can afford, so I paint for the pleasure of it and the opportunity to now and again gift a painting. My stormy day was painted in plein air on a sunny day... so who would thought this could happen
