About Me

I am a renaissance aging lady living in Frederiksted, St Croix, whose previous life was spent by the sea in south Florida. The power, strength and calmness of the ocean environment has embraced my soul and the connection I have though my emotions and memories are expressed through my art work.

Being self-taught, I continue to study on line, attend artist workshops and paint en plein air weekly at different island locations with a local group called The Palletteers. My artistic ability continues to improve and evolve as I am always seeking new exciting techniques and continue to dream in technicolor. I continue to read, write and scuba dive

Currently in my art, I am striving to capture the mesmerizing beauty of our local flowers, historic architecture, people playing and ocean waves utilizing different mediums to express different atmospheric conditions

About Me

I would like to say I found the sea, but now I know that the sea found me. At age 13, living ocean side in Pompano Beach, Florida, I daily braved the blue breaking waves. It didn’t just start with a mask, fins, and snorkel; but with a raft and a pole spear. The raft got me from the beach to the first reef (with no life guard in sight for back in the 50’s they were none). The spear was just in case… and it became the infamous poker. Eventually, I got a horse collar, back plate and owned the first Aqua-Lung in Broward County. I then met my husband to be and my best friend, while gigging lobsters and selling them to the locale hotels for movie money. Thus, began my evolution as a diver.

The industry has developed amazing equipment. Back inflated BC, stretchy wet suits, air computers, and cameras that far exceeded my home grown version. Digital is everything. Today’s gear is smooth, safe and well made; so all I need to do now is enjoy the under the sea world I love to explore and share it with you.
